‘DISCOVER ROTARY’ EVENT OPEN TO PUBLIC ON APRIL 3

The Rotary Club of New Bern Breakfast invites the public to ‘Discover Rotary’ at an informal event on Thursday, April 3, at the Craven Pamlico Regional Library, 400 Johnson Street, in New Bern. This informational meeting will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 PM in the Library’s conference room.

“Our Breakfast Rotary Club is creating an evening companion club for those folks who are not available to join us at our regular Thursday morning meetings from 7:30 to 8:30 AM at the Masonic Lodge on Hancock Street,” said Barry Lutz, a member of the Breakfast Rotary and District 7720 Chair for Membership. “We get it! Not everyone can or wants to attend an early morning meeting every week, but they still may be interested in being part of Rotary. So, we are offering an alternative.”

The event will include a brief presentation on Rotary International and the Rotary Club of New Bern Breakfast, as well as decisions to be made about the evening club’s meeting schedule and frequency. Members of the evening companion club will be full members of the New Bern Breakfast Rotary and enjoy the fun and friendship, networking, and community service opportunities provided by Rotary.

“As a Rotarian for over 35 years, I understand the purpose, benefits, and opportunities Rotary offers to every member,” said Deedra Durocher, a member of the Breakfast Club. “I support Rotary’s Vision Statement which says, “Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.”
