CAROLINAEAST HEALTH SYSTEM TO HOST ANNUAL BEREAVEMENT CEREMONY October 15th Event Open to the Publi

CarolinaEast Health will host their 11th Annual Pregnancy and Infant Loss Bereavement Ceremony on Wednesday, October 15th at 6:30 p.m. The event is held annually to memorialize and remember lives of babies lost to miscarriage, stillbirth and other causes.

October is designated nationally as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month to promote awareness and provide information regarding resources within the community to aid and support families that have experienced the loss of a child. The Pregnancy and Infant Loss Bereavement Committee at CarolinEast is committed to supporting such families throughout the year, with efforts such as Mother’s Day cards, handmade Christmas ornaments, and a safe space to talk whenever needed.

“We at CarolinaEast are honored to continue this special event for those we are privileged to care for,” said Heather Ecklund, RN on the Women’s and Children’s Pavilion at CarolinaEast Medical Center and Pregnancy and Infant Loss Bereavement Coordinator. “This is an opportunity for families to come together to promote healing and comfort during a time of pain and heartache and to look towards the future with hope.”

Arrival time for guests will be 6:00 p.m. at the Martin Marietta Park Canal Shelter #2, with the Ceremony scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. It will also be streamed live at https://www.facebook.com/carolinaeasthealth/. Guests are encouraged to RSVP to ensure their baby’s name is spoken during the ceremony. To register or for more information, visit CarolinaEast’s website or call 252-633-8838.
