Supports brain-body connection — Rhythm engages the brain, body, movement, attention, and sensory systems at the same time.
Connection happens through co-regulation — Making music together requires us to listen, respond, adjust, and find a shared rhythm. These shared experiences can help us feel connected and regulated with others. Rhythm creates a shared experience — We don't have to know each other well or be musicians. We can connect through something as simple as a beat.
Creates a safe space for expression — Music can provide a way to express and experience emotions without having to find the "right" words.
Builds new experiences — ENGAGE is about creating meaningful, positive experiences that support connection, curiosity, and growth.
Engages the whole person — Body, mind, emotions, relationships, creativity, and even a sense of belonging can all be part of the experience.
This is what “Healing Happens in Community” looks like — We aren't doing this alone. We learn, experience, laugh, create, and grow alongside one another.
And the best part? You don't have to be a musician! There is no perfect rhythm and no musical experience required. Just come as you are and ENGAGE.
